WHAT'S INCLUDED
Our Leaving Cert Study Skills Guide is designed to empower students and parents/guardians with the latest evidence on, and the relevant application of, 'what works' in study, revision and exams. The scope of the Guide is curriculum-wide and the format adopts a holistic approach to the processes of learning, study and revision. In it, we communicate important scientific ideas and research in an accessible manner. The Guide is organised into four discrete sections, each of which can be read separately or cumulatively. Each section includes relevant exemplars and practical strategies. A video tutorial is also included.
The A3 pad is ideal for organising knowledge, whether into full maps of a curriculum subject or syllabus, by units within subjects or topics within units. In our Study Skills Guide, we outline two principles for creating study maps and we offer practical examples. Our Study Maps include instructions and illustrations on the inner cover. A short video tutorial is also available.
This Wall Planner is 420mm x 594mm in size. It has space for 49 revision days, excluding rest days, with up to four slots daily to allocate towards a revision topic/subject and the individual task. Students can also monitor their progress in the completion of tasks. Each planner includes a maximum of 196 revision slots and we recommend a twin pack for Christmas and Summer exams, or for mocks as well as end of year exams. Instructions are provided on how to map subjects/topics, create notes and complete retrieval practice. A short video tutorial is also available.
Our Q&A Cards are lined on one side and blank on the other. 50 cards are included in a set. The organiser has 13 pockets, in expandable accordion-style, for the portable use of question-and-answer cards. It allows students to keep cards neat and organised and works well for spaced practice. This is the practice of increasing the intervals between review sessions which introduces desirable difficulty for the student.
These are a unique resource to create notes in structured bite-sized chunks, accompanied by relevant questions and answers for review. Each card has A6 dimensions, larger than the standard flash card. This allows students to maximise the content of their notes by planning out the structure of individual cards as well as the connections between them. Each sheet of cards is portable and can be folded, making notes more digestible. Instructions are provided on how to get started and create effective notes and review/revision questions which are used for later retrieval.
The Cornell note-taking system can be used during class, when reviewing information after class and as a revision aid. It is an internationally recognised model. This format requires each student to be mentally engaged in learning, uses a set of pre-assigned headings (Abbreviated Notes, Questions and Summary) and offers scope for dual coding. Using this system, each student will focus on and interact with the home text, make decisions about what is important and record only the information that is most relevant.
Our pack now includes a digital timer to help students manage their study sessions effectively. With a large LCD display, a loud alarm, and flexible positioning options. It’s perfect for structured revision techniques. Lightweight and portable, it supports timed exam practice, focused study, and productive breaks, making it an essential tool for better time management and concentration.
All resources are accompanied by a video tutorial. During the tutorials Dr Katie Liston explains how to maximise usage of each of the resources. She gives important guidance and tips along the way.

The Study Skills Guide completely changed how I approach revision. I used to just re-read notes, but now I actually understand how to study smarter. The Q&A cards helped me test myself and stay focused.

The Retrieval Board is actually class for quick revision. I use it every evening to jot down what I remember from the day without looking at my notes – it really helps stuff stick!
Pupil

The board is great for active recall. I do a topic, flip the board over, and write out everything I remember. The double-sided design is perfect when I’m switching between subjects like Biology and Irish.

Got this during my mock prep and it’s class. Handy size, easy to flip over between subjects. Fantastic bit of kit and I would highly recommend this to other students in preparation for exams.

The instructions and examples included were a lifesaver. It made revision way less stressful. I even used it to quiz my little brother! Definitely worth it, especially with all the pens included.
Pupil

It’s so handy to quickly test myself on topics without wasting paper. The fact that it’s double-sided means I can set up two subjects at once, and the magnetic pens and eraser make it super easy to use.
